I’ve thought about different ways to capture the beauty and majesty of ponderosas. I went out during a heavy snowfall just before sunrise looking for the right situation. It took some time to find an appropriate tree. The best angle was looking straight up at the snow lined branches while the warm light of sunrise dappled one side. I had to keep wiping snowflakes off the front of my lens while I captured this ponderosa from its under belly upward.
