I found this lone tree in a farming region of Italy. Adjacent fields made a nice graphical framework. The difficulty was finding a vantage point without visual clutter that would also allow a lighting angle for distinct shadows. I scouted several days to find my ideal vantage point. I used the clear sky as another element of the patchwork. Shooting early evening let me maintain some blue in the sky along with great shadows accentuating the feel of this solo tree.
