I was exploring some ancient Italian ruins on an overcast day. I peeked in an entryway just as the sun broke through the clouds. It cast a warm spotlight on the agave behind the window. I only had a few seconds to find a way to harmonize all the disparate planes in this image, each of which seems to depict a moment in time.
