Getting lost pays off. I was on my way to a location shoot in Provence, France during "sweet light" and missed my turnoff. While looking for a place to turn around I noticed a field of poppies in bloom amidst some tall grasses. A dark shadow cast by neighboring trees made a dramatic backdrop for the vivid flowers. In order not to lose the shadow and light I found my composition quickly and captured the "coquelicots"
